Mr. James Henry "Jim" Moss, 76, of Thurmont, passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2017, at the Citizens Care and Rehabilitation Center. He was the husband of the late Nancy Krantz Moss. Born in Frederick on August 4, 1940, he was a son of the late William Harry and Eleanor Louise Hauver Moss. 

Jim at one time was self employed as a site contractor in construction doing most of his work in Baltimore. Later her worked as a stationary engineer for National Geographic and also for Montgomery College. He was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church in Rohrersville. He was a member of the SAL of the Francis Scott Key American Legion, Cumberland Valley Steam Engine Association, Frederick County Farm Museum and a lifetime member of the Rough and Tumble Engineers Historical Assc. in  Kinzer, PA.  Surviving are his brother, Richard W. Moss and wife Pamela, of Thurmont and sister, Rebecca L. Smithson, of Yorktown, VA. He also will be remembered by many friends. 

The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m., on Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at the funeral home. The Rev. John W. Schildt, will officiate. Interment will be in the Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.
