Obituary for Edgar S Almony

Edgar S. Almony, 70, passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2020, as a result of injuries suffered in a motor vehicle accident in Virginia. He was the beloved husband of Kathleen (Gowl) Almony and they celebrated 11 years of marriage on September 6, 2019. Born in Baltimore County, Maryland, Ed was raised by his grandparents, Leslie and Rose Almony of White Hall, Md. Ed was an operating engineer with the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local # 37 of Baltimore. He was an avid antique tractor collector and puller and was a member of the Maryland International Harvester Collectors Club Chapter #39, and Rough and Tumble Engineers Historical Association.

He loved his family, especially his grandchildren, and was a loving husband, father, and step-father. He proudly served in the Army during the Vietnam War.                                                   
Surviving in addition to his wife are two children, Adam W. Almony of Baltimore, Md, and Christopher Alan Almony, and his wife Ashley of Bel-Air, Md.; 4 step-children, Jesse D. Humphrey of Linthicum, Md., Erin K. Lyons of San Francisco, CA, Koree J. Humphrey of White Hall, Md., and Samantha R. Humphrey of Conshohocken; and 5 grandchildren, Jordan, Justin, Beau, Grayson, and Adalynn.

There will be a viewing from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Saturday, March 7, at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 19 S. Main St., Stewartstown. There will be a funeral service at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, March 8 at the funeral home. Interment is private and at the convenience of his family.
